Daniela Kent

While studying for my B.A. in Literatures of the World at UCSD, I was introduced to the philosophy of yoga and immediately feel in love with the way yoga practice served as a way to seek physical health, mental and emotional well-being, and spiritual growth in an interconnected way. I received my RYT 200 certification in 2010 from UCSD under the tutelage of Arturo Galvez, who studied with B.K.S. Iyengar and Indra Devi, and showed me the power of aligning the body to heal and prevent injury. I furthered my yogic education in 2011 with Roger Cole, learning the therapeutic practice of traditional Restorative Yoga. In 2012, I touch studied the power of touch while learning the Cheng Mei style of Thai Massage, and decided to deepen my yogic studies with Cloud 9’s 300 Hour Advanced YTT under yoga therapist Alison Scola. I completed my Personal Trainer certification from the American Council on Exercise in 2016 to enhance my understanding of athletic movement and training. I continue to learn every day how amazing the body is; and how it can be used as tool to make our time on this earth powerful. Every class I teach, I hope to offer a little knowledge and inspiration, so students can empower their bodies, harness the power of the minds, and live their lives from a deep connection to their spirit.

She believes in combining all aspects of yoga practice, the physical, mental, and spiritual through cultivation of alignment, intention, breath work, strength, flexibility, and grace. Daniela is grateful for all her students teach her and feels that everyone who practices yoga is a yoga teacher of sorts. She offers her personal knowledge and experience of years of yoga study and practice in hopes that it will ignite the teacher within. She passionately believes that we open ourselves to learn from each other we receive the truest and most powerful teachings of all. Daniela encourages all of her students to have unique and individual experiences every class they take, and to have patience as the often mysterious and challenging journey of yoga practice unfolds.
