Yoga has been a part of Liwen’s life since she stumbled into her first class looking for a new fitness routine. She became hooked and soon developed a dedicated practice. Although she began her yoga journey for physical reasons, Liwen remains most inspired by the spiritual and mental benefits of yoga. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2013 and teaches vinyasa flow classes that emphasize awareness in breathing and alignment. She believes that paying attention to the effect that yoga asana has on the breath and body during practice brings a greater awareness in everything off the mat. Liwen uses her background knowledge in the science of physiology to complement yoga’s focus on mindfulness and help her students find balance in mind and body. Her intention is to support her students as they explore their own yoga journeys.
