Presented by Lauren Autenrieth
When: Saturday, June 10th from 1:30 – 3:30 pm
Join Lauren Autenrieth e-ryt200/ryt500 for a two hour workshop focusing on developing and building core strength and stability in order to avoid injury. The root of many common limitations in our practice stem from a lack of awareness to proper engagement of our core muscular complex, leaving joints and the spine unsupported as we move into more complex posture and begin to play with pushing our “edge” in practice.
Lauren will integrate the principles of bio mechanics, anatomy and alignment, and functional stability training in her approach to educating on the essentials of power, stability and postural awareness. Students will explore practice with the use of props to examine how we can integrate our knowledge of stability and alignment in key asanas while moving safely and more effectively.
This workshop will include:
- a review of the anatomy of the “core” (abdominal and back muscles)
- lecture and discussion on core stabilization techniques
- asana (movement) practice integrating the key principles of the workshop lecture.
