Marissa Nicole D’Errico, E-RYT
Marissa’s extensive understanding of the human body stems from a lifetime of athletic pursuits. Her 14 year career as a gymnast began at the age of four. She holds both national and world championship titles in collegiate cheerleading. In 2009, she attended her first yoga class. She knew she had found a way to expand the boundaries of her physical abilities while also embarking on a wonderful journey of self-exploration.
Under the expert guidance of Chrissy Carter, Marissa completed her 200 hour RYT through Yoga Work’s world renowned program. After years of teaching in New York City and Connecticut, she moved to the west coast. For the past 3 years she has shared her unique teaching style with students all over San Diego.
Movement is her passion. In addition to teaching yoga, Marissa finds joy working as a professional Aerialist and Hand Balancer. As a brand ambassador for both FitFit Active and RE3, she is honored to share the beauty of yoga with the world. Her commitment and dedication to spreading the joy of yoga is obvious. In 2017 she created her own unique 8 week arm balance and inversion training. She travels throughout the United States sharing her “Flight School” with yogis of all ages and abilities.
Alyssa Runyan, E-RYT 200
Alyssa found yoga through meditation – she realized a yoga mat is a mirror that offers you the opportunity to either continue destructive patterns or make choices that align with your best intentions. She committed to a steady practice and continues to notice the positive shifts yoga creates in her life.
She graduated from her first 200 hour training in 2010 and began teaching immediately. Within 6 months, she left her job as an animal nurse to teach yoga full time and never looked back. After completing her second 200 hour YTT with Michael Fukumura in the Anusara tradition, Alyssa started leading her own trainings here at Sol. She created a unique vinyasa program that offers a balance of alignment, movement, and effective teaching skills. Many of our Sol graduates have started successful teaching careers both here in San Diego and at studios throughout the United States.
As a student, teacher, lululemon brand ambassador, studio manager, and YTT lead, Alyssa has experience with all aspects of the yoga world. After noticing certain patterns in her students and fellow teachers, she became fascinated with the therapeutic possibilities that yoga has to offer. She’s continued her education by studying how humans experience trauma and its impact on the autonomic nervous system. She completed 2 years of intensive training in Somatic Experiencing, a psycho-biological technique for healing trauma. She uses that knowledge to inform her teaching so that her students leave feeling inspired, empowered, and capable of meeting the challenges of a western lifestyle with grace and ease.
